Why Aren’t Members Asking More Questions?

August 27, 2020 By mark david mcCreary

People may not be asking more questions because they aren’t sure what questions are acceptable to ask, or if people will judge certain questions that are asked. You can interview multiple people and come up with something based on the responses that you receive when you do so. There will also be an anonymous feature, where nobody will know who asked what question, but the question will still be getting asked and they will be able to deliver a response.

Key Takeaways:

  • Interview 5-10 members about what information they needed, where they went for it, and why they did or didn’t ask the community.
  • People may feel intimidated attaching their name to a question, so add a ‘post anonymously’ feature.
  • Promote the community’s variety of responses as the main call to action for asking a question.

“We can also run a short email series campaign encouraging members to give feedback on each other’s work and remove the self-promotion stigma.”
