The author states that one of the projects they are now working on is how to launch a community in a space that is competitive. When the communities that were competitors to the client were reviewed it was noticed that people tend to share the lessons that they learned while they achieved a goal. And the author identified this trend as one of the reasons for a powerful concept in the community. They now have decided that they would not create a generic forum that concentrates on the topics that competitors are already dealing with but rather they are focusing on what people really love in these communities. The author states that the concept is really unique and new. Members are encouraged to post their achievements and the lessons learned along the way rather than just concentrating on members posting questions. Predefined templates that would aid members in doing so would be provided. Each profile in the template would be a reflection of the date that the success was achieved along with the lessons that was learned by the member as he set out to achieve those goals. Then members can set what targets they will set their sights on next. Also, their top successes over the years will be highlighted. The idea behind this concept is that they are having a strategy that will guide technology and not technology guiding the community strategy.
