Micro-Groups

January 23, 2020 By mark david mcCreary

Micro-groups are allowing for more and more high quality discussions to take place within small groups. These discussions are usually hosted in a mobile friendly app such as WhatsApp, Telegram or Slack. These chats allow each member to feel a sense of exclusivity and trust as these discussions should stay private. Members can also speak their mind without having to worry that their thoughts will become public. These chats are becoming more and more popular and there are even groups being made specifically for VIPs of companies. They promote discussions within companies where everything stays private.

Key Takeaways:

  • A love of discussions happen on mobile friendly channels such as WhatsApp, Telegram or Slack. These chats allow for privacy and a feeling of exclusivity.
  • These apps are popular because each member can be removed if they break a rule, and the small group helps allow trust to be made.
  • It is a great idea to host your own chat because you have a better chance of hosting a chat and inviting other high profile people to it, rather than them inviting you.

“In a growing number of our client community programs, we find ourselves setting up small off-site groups on WhatsApp just for top members, task-groups, or VIPs.”
