Finding The Ultimate Cause

October 17, 2019 By mark david mcCreary

It isn’t uncommon for community owners to find that their engagement levels are dropping overtime. To properly diagnose which areas need improvement, it is imperative to find which areas traffic is dwindling in. If posts within your community have been steadily declining, it could either be due to members posting less, or it could be a result of less members visiting the site overall. Each of these diagnoses requires a different approach, so determining this beforehand is the initial step.

Key Takeaways:

  • If less people are viewing the posts within your community, it is important to focus your energy on newcomers instead of customer retention.
  • If your search traffic begins to decline, this could be due to your community starting to rank lower int he search engine result pages (SERPs).
  • A decline in website clicks through search engines could be a result of your webpage not being optimized with the correct search terms.

“You can’t really improve a community until you know the ultimate cause behind a problem.”
