In order to best manage groups of people, especially online, it is better to employ a more strategic approach than a tactical one. Thinking strategically involves looking at your problems on a larger scale, as opposed to thinking tactically, which involves looking at individual issues on a smaller scale. This is not to say that tactical thinking is completely ineffective; rather, in order for tactics to be better implemented, one must employ a solid overarching strategy in order to apply the right tactics in a time-efficient manner, which will ultimately yield better results.
